JANUARY SEMINAR

PA/OSHA CONSULTATION PROGRAM

PRESENTED BY: Mark McGahen of Indiana University of PA and PA/OSHA Consultation Program

Tuesday, January 12, 2010-- 6:00 PM

The PRESENTATION

Since 1983, IUP's Safety Sciences Department has been the officially designated agency in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for providing occupational and health consultative services made available through federal regulations.  The program is designed to assist private-sector employers in the Commonwealth in understanding and voluntarily complying with applicable safety/health regulations enforced by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.Mark McGahen will explain how Pennsylvania employers who want help in recognizing and correcting safety and health hazards and in improving their safety and health programs can get it from a FREE consultation service largely funded by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), an agency of the United States Department of Labor. The service is provided through the PA/OSHA Consultation Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The program addresses immediate problems and also offers professional advice and help in maintaining continued, effective worker protection. Besides helping employers to identify and correct specific hazards, consultants provide guidance in establishing or improving an effective safety and health program and offer training and education for the employer, the employer's supervisors, and employees. http://www.hhs.iup.edu/sa/OSHA/index.htm

This presentation is FREE for Chapter members and non-members to attend. (A light dinner will be provided – but please rsvp to let us know you’re coming)
